- The National Institutes of Health (NIH) and major academic medical centers.
- Guidelines from professional medical associations (AMA, ACP, Endocrine Society, and others).
- Regulatory agencies such as HHS and state boards of medicine and pharmacy.
Medical review
All clinical content is reviewed by a licensed physician or pharmacist before publication. Content that makes specific claims is cited to a primary source.
Independence
Editorial content is produced independently of commercial relationships. We do not accept payment for editorial content or allow advertisers to influence our editorial decisions. Content that contains paid or sponsored elements is clearly labeled.
Accuracy and corrections
We review content on a rolling basis and update articles when new evidence is published or guidance changes. If you believe a statement is inaccurate, email [email protected] with the subject "Correction" and a link to the page. Corrections are noted at the bottom of the article.
